Why did you choose Kintsugi when on your job search?
Recently facing graduation, my friends and I realized we all had stressful issues in our daily lives. It shed a light on mental health for me and how important it is for us to pay attention to it more. The more we learn about mental health, the better we can provide helpful support to those in our lives who struggle with mental health conditions. And this is what Kintsugi commits to. I was also impressed by this standout company with its novel technology and diverse team. I want to be part of it and find a deeper insight into this field.
What kind of projects have you worked on in your time at Kintsugi?
As a data scientist, my main job is focused on analyzing the data we get from the enterprise and our Kintsugi app. The real-world data has many noises and how we find the high-quality data to make our Machine Learning models more robust is an essential process for our ML group. What can AI learn from the data? To be specific, how do the audio features drive the models, what are the different model’s strengths and weaknesses? These are all the interesting questions I'm working on and want to investigate more in the future.
How has working at a mission-aligned, diverse company like Kintsugi shaped your career path?
I think the most important thing that I learned from Kintsugi is the freedom and flexibility to explore new ideas and thoughts in this field. There are many ways and many methods we can go by. It’s important to never be trapped in one thought. The diverse and knowledgeable teammates, along with efficient working progress by using variant platforms contribute to my enjoyment with the work at Kintsugi.
What words of advice would you give to new team members at Kintsugi?
Don't hesitate when you have any questions no matter what. We have different channels in Slack and you can always find one to ask questions when you get stuck. Someone will always help out.
What are 3 words you would use to describe the Kintsugi culture?
