Grace Chang, Founder & CEO at Kintsugi

We’re so excited to have you here. Why did you decide to join Kintsugi?

After moving to the US and experiencing freedom, I learned that expressing my emotions to a supportive advocate was not only acceptable but essential. Kintsugi embodies this understanding by offering access to mental healthcare and embracing the beauty of vulnerability. Just as Kintsugi highlights the beauty in repaired pottery, our own struggles and scars can tell powerful stories of resilience. I wholeheartedly believe in Kintsugi's mission, and I am inspired to contribute to a company dedicated to helping everyone live their best lives.

So far, what has surprised you about Kintsugi?

I was surprised to learn about the product - Kintsugi Voice. I remember always using journaling as an outlet to comfort myself growing up. The capabilities of Kintsugi Voice—detecting stratified levels of anxiety and depression from short audio samples of free form speech—is such a unique way to identify mental health issues.

What do you hope to learn from your new teammates?

I am super excited to get to meet each person on the Kintsugi team and learn about each department’s dynamics and workflows. I am hoping to learn as much as I can about the product and sit in as many meetings as possible. I plan to dive in, learn fast, and ramp up fast to contribute to the success of Kinstugi.

Fun Fact?

I was born and raised in the country of Dracula. I survived a revolution and was a political refugee in the US for years before becoming a proud citizen. I speak 5 languages and live in Castro Valley with my husband, two kiddos and two dogs.
