We are delighted to welcome Deepak Ghosh as the Head of Product to the Kintsugi team. Deepak is a tenured and innovative executive with 15+ years of experience building, managing, and scaling products across enterprises for sustainable growth.
Deepak joins us most recently from Abra, a leading financial services startup for digital assets, where he was the VP/Head of Product, Design, and Growth. He has deep software engineering and product expertise across several startups as well as prestigious high-growth brands, including Apple, Amazon, and Twilio. His unique skills and perspectives will be leveraged to advance our team’s mission to transform behavioral healthcare.
Deepak received his MBA from Yale University and holds an MS in Computer Science from University of Southern California and a BE in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai in India. He lives in San Bruno, California, with his wife and 4 year old son.
We sat down with Deepak to get his take on his first week and why he decided to join Kintsugi.
“Deepak’s strong sense of product strategy, execution, technical fluency, and mission alignment are absolutely critical to meeting our growth ambitions. Deepak asks the right questions, engages thoroughly, and brings deep understanding to scale innovation across all our healthcare partners.”
Grace Chang, Founder/CEO
We’re so excited you’re here. Why did you decide to join Kintsugi?
Nearly one in five adults live with some form of mental illness, yet very few people are screened regularly in the U.S. This means so many people are suffering without a diagnosis, when they don’t need to. Kintsugi’s mission to change this, to bring more objectivity and scale access to mental healthcare is such a critical one. As I learned more about the product, including client results and clinical trial outcomes, and once I met Grace and Rima, I knew I had found my place at Kintsugi. Surrounded by a talented team and proven AI that can accurately detect signs of depression, I am joining at exactly the right moment. I look forward to expanding upon the team’s successes and evolving our product to meet the ever changing needs of our healthcare partners and to driving positive change in member and patient lives.
What surprised you about Kintsugi?
I have been pleasantly pleased and incredibly impressed by how strategic, disciplined and poised for scaled growth the Kintsugi team is, especially for a Series A start-up. As a previous founder myself and most recently joining from a Series C financial services startup, I know how easy it can be to get distracted by competing priorities. The team here remains laser focused on its mission, which has shone through across every department and teammate I’ve met with.
What do you hope to learn from your new teammates?
I can’t wait to go even deeper into our product, our AI technology, our implementations and our roadmap. What’s working for our clients? What’s not? What’s missing? How can we ensure the product is meeting our target buyer’s needs and also scaled for sustainable growth? I have so many questions and am very excited to roll up my sleeves and dive into all of these topics with the team.
Fun fact?
My wife and I have road-tripped cross country twice in the U.S. in our Toyota Corolla. Both times, we spend over a month on the road, enjoying time together and soaking in the natural wonders and cultural diversity that this country has to offer.
